“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” – Jeremiah 29:11
This has always been one of my favorite scriptures, because lets be honest, who doesn't want prosperity?? It wasn't until we began our adoption journey that this scripture took on an all new meaning for me. I've always looked at this scripture in terms of myself, God was going to make me prosperous and keep me from harm so that I would have hope and a future. But maybe, just maybe, God had different plans for me. Maybe He was going to make me prosperous, not so much for my benefit as for someone elses. Maybe my prosperity would make it possible to adopt a sweet little girl from China and give her hope and a future. A future that includes a mommy and daddy and siblings who love her more than she could possibly know and the knowledge of a God who made it all possible.
